Don't let your skin suffer this winter

Winter is here, and you know what that means - dry, itchy, and flaky skin is coming to town. But fear not! We've got some handy tips and tricks to combat those winter skin blues and keep your skin glowing throughout the season. So grab a cozy blanket, sip on some tea, and let's dive in!

  1. Hydrate like it's going out of style: Winter tends to be drier, both outside and indoors. Combat this dryness by drinking plenty of water throughout the day. Keeping yourself hydrated from the inside out will help your skin stay moisturised and supple.
  2. Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise: Say it with me now - moisturise! Our Botanical Hydrating Moisturiser suits all skin types, is rich and nourishing, and will leave your skin feeling silky and smooth. Apply it generously after showering or washing your face. Don't forget to moisturise your hands and body as well, as they also tend to suffer from dryness during winter.
  3. Switch up your skincare routine: Winter calls for some extra TLC when it comes to skincare. Consider using a gentle cleanser that doesn't strip away your skin's natural oils.  Such as our Super Nourishing Foaming Cleanser or the Botanical Cream Cleanser. Avoid hot showers or baths, as they can further dehydrate your skin. Opt for lukewarm water instead, and limit your bathing time.
  4. Exfoliate with care: Exfoliation is great for removing dead skin cells and promoting cell turnover, but be gentle during the winter months. Use a mild exfoliant once or twice a week to avoid over-drying your skin. Look for products with natural ingredients that won't irritate or strip away moisture or use a soft exfoliating glove.
  5. Don't forget the sunscreen: Just because it's winter doesn't mean you can ditch the sunscreen. Those harmful UV rays are still present, even on cloudy days. Our foundations are all made to include a SPF 25+ to help protect your skin from sun damage.
  6. Humidify your space: Indoor heating systems tend to suck the moisture out of the air, leaving your skin parched. Consider using a humidifier to add moisture back into the environment. It will help combat dryness not only on your skin but also in your nasal passages.
  7. Bundle up: Protecting your skin from the harsh winter elements is essential. Whenever you venture outside, make sure to wear a scarf, hat, and gloves to shield your face and hands from the cold wind. Layer up with warm clothing to prevent excessive exposure to the drying winter air.
  8. Stay hydrated from the outside too: Consider using a hydrating serum every day like our Hyaluronic Acid to give your skin an extra boost of moisture. Don’t forget to hydrate under your eyes as this skin is very thin and delicate, try using our Botanical Hydrating Eye Cream to protect and nourish this area.
  9. Eat well and stay healthy: A healthy diet plays a significant role in maintaining your skin's health. Load up on fruits, vegetables, and foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, such as salmon and walnuts. These nutrients help nourish your skin from within and keep it looking radiant.

Remember, combating dry winter skin is all about hydrating, moisturising, and protecting. So, take care of your skin, embrace the winter vibes, and let your natural glow shine through. Stay cozy and enjoy the season, my friends!
